Acme Exterminating is a family owned business, owned by Mr. Robert Stien. Acme was founded in 1949 by the current owner’s father, Harry Stien. In the course of expanding his business Mr. Stien acquired Harris Exterminating, Virus Limited, and Oriental Exterminating. These businesses are among the oldest pest control companies in the United States having been founded in the late 1800’s. Mr. Stien is the president and owner of Acme Exterminating Corp. and has been working full-time with Acme Exterminating since 1974. Besides his commitment to his company he is devoted to the pest management industry having served at various times as:

• Director of the National Pest Management Association
• Director of the New York State Pest Management Association
• President of the Associated Pest Control Association

In addition Mr. Stien has lectured to a number of industry and trade groups over the years, among them museum conservators. He and his company have been featured in news articles in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Daily News, and The New York Post. He has been featured as well on Eyewitness News and other local TV news broadcasts. Additionally, he and his companies efforts on behalf of Central Park in NYC were the subject of extensive media coverage.
