Integrated Pest Management (or IPM) is the name of the approach
that Acme Exterminating employs in its commercial accounts. IPM integrates
a wide range of pest control techniques, from insecticides to use of
mechanical, biological, and environmental methods to attain a pest free
environment. Our procedures are intended to reduce or eliminate pesticide
application, thus reducing chemical exposure in the workplace. IPM relies
greatly on careful inspection and observation to identify sources of
infestations, elimination of rodent and insect harborages through good
sanitary practices, and identifying site specific application of control
measures. We will work aggressively to help you eliminate conditions
which may be conducive to pests. This is particularly important considering
the nature of your business and your health and safety concerns.
IPM emphasizes concepts and techniques that help us manage pest problems
in a manner that is in harmony with the health of humans, pets, wildlife
and the environment. Minimizing dependence on pesticides takes a little
more time and effort initially but the rewards include reduced personal
and environmental contamination with toxic materials. The alternatives
to toxic chemicals require a greater commitment to long term preventive
management strategies before emergencies arise.
Here are just some of the standard elements of our service program:
- Inspection and Evaluation: Each service
visit consists of a thorough inspection of your facility. The criteria
for selecting the right treatment are collected and observations and
pest problems are analyzed.
- Service Staff: The service staff in
your facility will be fully certified pest control operators, certified
by the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation. In addition
to being certified our staff participates in ongoing training programs
to insure they are completely familiar with current laws and procedures.
Our technicians are fully uniformed and carry company identification
at all times while on duty. This uniform consists of both personal
and company identification and is clearly visible for security reasons.
We believe our appearance in your facility reflects not only on Acme
but on your company as well and we do all we can to provide a professional
image.
- Quality Assurance: Quality Assurance
is a number one priority with Acme Exterminating. Besides our scheduled
service inspection our supervisory staff periodically visits our clients,
reviews staff reports, inspects key areas of the facility and consult
with responsible staff. In many accounts our inspections are documented
in separate reporting forms. This also helps insure our work is of
the highest quality. Our reporting provides our customers with an
overview of our work and gives our supervisory staff indications as
to the success or failure of our efforts. We have found these reports
invaluable and would like to show you how they can help your firm.
- Customer Education Program: Much of
our success in the pest control industry can be attributed to our
innovative Customer Education Program. We provide your staff with
customers with updates on pest control techniques and information
through our Acme Newsletter, video tapes, magazine articles, and audio.
- Preventive Pest Control: We have dedicated
ourselves to providing preventive service as opposed to reactive pest
control service. Preventing pests from entering your facility is an
integral part of an IPM program (mechanical alteration of a structure)
and Acme is happy to assist you in identifying the ways pests enter
your firm.
- Exclusion: In many cases our staff will
seal small and accessible rodent entry points will be sealed with
expanding foam to prevent rodents from entering the premises. This
preventive measure will effectively reduce the likelihood of rodents
entering the premises while reducing the need for chemical controls
(rodent bait).
- Logbook: Many of our customers are provided
with Service Logs. Our logs and service request forms aid the monitoring
of the success of our efforts. Sanitation and structural deficiencies
are documented in the logbook as well.
- Safety Program: We would be more than
pleased to provide you with training focusing on pest control materials
safety issues. Copies of labels and MSDS for all materials used in
the facility will be maintained on site. In addition we are available
at all times to answer any safety related questions which might arise.
- Emergency Call-Back Service: Emergency
service will be provided promptly during normal business hours at
no additional cost. This prompt response to pest sightings helps insure
your facility will remain pest free.
